Sometimes you want to build something, but don’t want to drive around getting all the materials. Occasionally you have everything you need at hand. An hour or so from conception to completion – a perfect little project. That’s what happened with this garden tripod.
This tripod will sit over a pot with a vine. The vine will wind around it, and tillandsias will be tucked in everywhere. I had made a similar version before, but this time I got all the connections right. Instead of screws that weren’t quite long enough or strong enough, I used carriage bolts where the members meet at odd angles. Designed to be made from 8′ long 2×4’s cut in half, I was able to use scrap pieces that were laying around.
